What's On This Week: Exclusive Premiere Screening of BEST F(R)IENDS, from the makers of THE ROOM!

12th September, 2018

There are limited screenings this week due to the ANU’s non-teaching break, and a number of conferences taking place in the Coombs Theatre, but you can still catch an acclaimed German thriller and our exclusive Canberra premiere of the long-awaited on-screen reunion of THE ROOM’s Tommy Wiseau and Greg Sestero.

We’ll be back to full programming next week, with some big films including INCREDIBLES 2, THE WIFE and a fascinating look at the life of US Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg in RBG, followed by an expert panel discussion on women in law. Not to be missed!

• WED 12 SEP @ 7:30 PM: IN THE FADE (MA, 106 min)

A woman (Diane Kruger) finds her life collapsing after her husband and young son are killed in a terrorist bombing. Although the police quickly arrest two suspects, her quest for justice soon pushes her ever closer to the edge in this year’s Golden Globe winner for Best Foreign Language Film.

** Presented in partnership with the Embassy of Germany **

• SAT 15 SEP @ **7 PM**: BEST F(R)IENDS: VOLUMES ONE AND TWO (M, 103 MINS + 95 MINS)

A drifter wandering the streets of Los Angeles encounters a quirky mortician, and two friends soon find themselves caught up in an elaborate money-making scheme that threatens to tear them apart in an on-screen journey too epic to be contained in just one film!

This is our exclusive Canberra premiere screening of Tommy Wiseau and Greg Sestero’s first on-screen collaboration since their infamous 2003 film THE ROOM, which is widely considered the worst film ever made, the making of which was chronicled in last year's THE DISASTER ARTIST.

Presented in two parts separated by a 10-minute intermission, featuring a video introduction from Greg himself filmed just for us!
