Semester Two Starts This Week + Annual Trivia Night on August 29

23rd July, 2014

It’s about time - our Semester Two 2014 programme kicks off this week with post-apocalyptic thrills, frat houses and fairy tales. Only at the Film Group!

• Thu 24 July @ 7:30 PM: THE ROVER

In a post-apocalyptic wasteland, a loner (Guy Pearce) traverses the outback to track down the men who have stolen his only possession and crosses paths with a wounded criminal (Robert Pattinson). Directed by David Michôd (ANIMAL KINGDOM).

• Fri 25 July @ 7:30 PM: BAD NEIGHBOURS + ANIMAL HOUSE

In BAD NEIGHBOURS, a couple (Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne) settle down in a quiet neighbourhood with their newborn child, but face unexpected difficulties after a hard-partying fraternity and their fearless leader (Zac Efron) move in next door.

Then, revisit the quintessential frat movie with the 1978 comedy classic ANIMAL HOUSE (at approx. 9:15 PM), in which a misfit group of fraternity members engage in all-out war with their college Dean and a neighbouring jock fraternity.

• Sat 26 July @ **7 PM**: MALEFICENT + BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

In MALEFICENT, a vengeful fairy (Angelina Jolie) is driven to place a curse upon the King's newborn daughter after suffering a ruthless betrayal, only to discover that the child may be the one person who can restore peace to their troubled land.

Then, in the animated Disney classic BEAUTY AND THE BEAST (at approx. 8:45 PM), a young woman, whose father has been imprisoned by a fearsome Beast, offers herself up in his place and discovers that there is more to her new captor than meets the eye.

COMING SOON: ANNUAL TRIVIA NIGHT ON AUGUST 29
.................................................................

Mark your calendars, cancel all commitments and start getting excited: our 8th Annual Trivia Night is coming up on Friday 29 August!

If the past few years is anything to go by, you'll be in for a trivia night unlike any other. Not only will there be prizes galore, a range of unusual rounds and questions for film buffs and novices alike, the event is also our main fundraiser for the year. All funds raised go directly back to the running of the Group, so your support, as always, would be greatly appreciated.

Our past two trivia nights sold out in advance, so this year we're moving to a new and improved larger venue at the Ainslie Football Club.

Tickets are $15 per person, with tables of up to 10 available. They can be purchased from the laminator below the screen at any Film Group screening from this week onwards, or online by emailing info@anufg.org.au

For more information, head over to www.anufg.org.au/trivia.
