PRESENTED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE EMBASSY OF THE PHILIPPINES

In 1990s Philippines, rebellious teenage artist Jo (H.E.R.) and her studious best friend Raissa (Liza Soberano) are celebrating their last night together before going their separate ways. When they stumble upon a mysterious portal, they are transported to the fantastical island of Nakali, packed with magical and mythological creatures they grew up hearing stories about from their Filipino families. Guided by a friendly talking dog named Raww (Dave Franco) and an eccentric spirit named Batiba (Jenny Slate), the duo embarks on a perilous quest across enchanted landscapes to find a portal home. But there's a heartbreaking catch: returning to the human world requires sacrificing every shared memory of their lifelong friendship.

Co-directed by Joel Crawford and Januel Mercado, this Dreamworks animated fantasy is notable for being rooted in Filipino folklore and mythology. Critics have enthusiastically praised the film for its gorgeous visual artistry, inventive world-building, and emotional exploration of loyalty and growing up.

When medical courier Bryan (Austin Abrams) accepts a last-minute job to deliver a package to a hospital in snowy Raccoon City, he expects a routine drive. Instead, a sudden road accident leaves him stranded outdoors in the midst of what appears to be a horrifying viral outbreak affecting the local population. With mutated monstrosities stalking him at every turn, Bryan is thrust into a desperate fight for his life as he attempts to survive the nightmarish onslaught and reach safe haven.

Following the one-two punch of original breakout hits Barbarian and Weapons, horror mastermind Zach Cregger applies his considerable talents to reviving the big-screen incarnation of the legendary video game series. Fortunately, Cregger is no mere hired hand and has not disappointed with this immersive, relentless vision of horror that transcends its roots while serving as a tribute to the terror – and pleasure – of the source material.
