Seventeen-year-old Christy (Danny Power) faces a bleak and uncertain future after being abruptly removed from his suburban foster home following a violent altercation. With no alternatives, the guarded teenager seeks refuge on the rough north side of Cork, Ireland, moving into the cramped apartment of his estranged older half-brother, Shane (Diarmuid Noyes). While Shane initially views the arrangement as a brief inconvenience, Christy surprisingly begins to find a genuine sense of purpose and identity within the working-class neighbourhood – but he is constantly forced to resist the criminal temptations surrounding his extended family to forge a better life.
