When Indian migrant Basant (Rajeev Khandelwal) relocates his wife Lipi (Usha Jadhav) and young son to the small Australian town of Salt Bridge, he expects a peaceful, harmonious future. However, friction quickly arises within the tight-knit local diaspora when Basant develops a warm, platonic friendship with Madhurima (Chelsie Preston Crayford), an Australian woman who is also married. Unwilling to succumb to the rigid social pressures and gossip of his orthodox peers, Basant's refusal to end the friendship threatens his standing within the community. His steadfast determination to challenge hypocrisy forces everyone around him to confront their deep-seated cultural prejudices.

Indian writer-director Abhijit Deonath helms this nuanced cross-cultural drama, which was filmed entirely on location across Canberra and regional New South Wales.
