Sister Yolanda (Ruby Ruiz), a kind-hearted and deeply pious middle-aged nun, leads a peaceful existence tending to patients at a hospital in a remote mountain community in the Philippines. Her stable world is permanently upended after she administers the last rites to a local labourer who suffered a catastrophic, gruesome accident at a nearby construction project. Troubled by the strange circumstances surrounding his demise, Yolanda quietly investigates the incident by speaking with community members, including the dead man's grieving father and the wealthy wife of the site's owner. Her investigation gradually unearths a dark web of institutional corruption that forces her to question the church she serves.

Filipino-Australian photographer and filmmaker James J. Robinson makes his feature directorial debut with this striking Australian-Filipino co-production; an elegant, slow-burning drama that will stay with you long after the credits roll.
