An intense psychological struggle unfolds when Anna (Tilda Cobham-Hervey) and her husband Jack (Nicholas Denton) leave the comforts of Sydney to manage an isolated cattle property in rural New South Wales. The unrelenting physical labor and vast loneliness begin fracturing their marriage. To entertain themselves during the grueling work hours, they create an elaborate, playful fiction about a pair of imaginary country neighbors named Joe and Michelle. What starts as a harmless inside joke rapidly shifts into terrifying territory when tangible handwritten letters from these nonexistent individuals start appearing inside their mailbox, completely upending their reality.

Director James Litchfield’s highly suspenseful debut feature was filmed entirely on his family's generational farm in the Monaro region. Composer Mark Bradshaw crafted the atmospheric musical score, which ingeniously integrates the eerie, real-life vocal humming of actors Ben Whishaw and Alice Englert.
