PRESENTED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE EMBASSY OF AUSTRIA
In 1930s Salzburg, a spirited postulant named Maria (Julie Andrews) is sent from her convent to serve as a governess for the seven children of the stern widower, Captain von Trapp (Christopher Plummer). While the household is initially run with military precision, Maria’s warmth and love of music quickly transform the lives of the children and eventually win the heart of the Captain. However, as the shadow of the Anschluss looms over Austria, the family must make a perilous choice to stand by their principles and flee across the mountains to safety.
