By showcasing his most legendary performances alongside intimate family moments, the narrative seeks to humanise the complicated figure known as the King of Pop.

Directed by Antoine Fuqua and starring Jaafar Jackson – the real-life nephew of the titular artist – the film has admittedly ignited debate amongst critics about its narrow focus. But audiences are seemingly happy to look past Jackson's controversies, with the film raking it in at the worldwide box office. Regardless of which side of the fence you're on, there's no denying that the performances, spectacular choreography and production design make Michael a truly immersive cinematic experience.
