When The Conjuring premiered in 2013, no one could have predicted that it would spawn a hugely successful franchise with multiple spin-offs and over $2.7 billion in box office earnings. But it all ends here – with this final chapter in the main saga as Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson reunite for one last case as real-life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren.

The film begins in 1986 with Warrens semi-retired due to Ed’s declining health, as they focus on their now-grown daughter Judy’s (Mia Tomlinson) upcoming wedding. Meanwhile, in Pennsylvania, the Smurl family move into their new home and find themselves relentlessly terrorised by multiple spirits. It soon transpires that the source of their haunting is an antique mirror with a link to a defining encounter from Warrens’ past. With the stakes quickly becoming personal, Ed and Lorraine are drawn back into the fold to confront the oldest, most powerful enemy they’ve ever faced.
