When his car is involved in an accident, former TV personality Chris Masterman (Ryan Corr) finds himself stranded in a remote town near Alice Springs. There, he forms an unlikely bond with Charlie (newcomer Lily Whiteley), a resilient 12-year-old Indigenous girl. Together, they embark on a life-changing mission to rescue and rehabilitate orphaned joeys in the stunning but harsh Outback.

Inspired by the real-life work of Chris 'Brolga' Barns, founder of The Kangaroo Sanctuary, this heartwarming Australian family film celebrates the unique bond between humans and wildlife. Filmed on location in Alice Springs, with a strong cast including Deborah Mailman and Wayne Blair, it is an uplifting adventure about finding purpose and friendship in unexpected places – and a reminder about the importance of caring for our iconic wildlife.

Modern horror master Mike Flanagan (Doctor Sleep) adds another Stephen King adaptation to his oeuvre with The Life of Chuck, a unique and genre-bending tale that has more in common with The Shawshank Redemption than The Shining. It stars Tom Hiddleston as everyman Chuck Krantz, whose entire life is revealed in reverse chronological order, beginning with his death from a brain tumour at the age of 39. As the story unfolds backwards, it explores the myriads of relationships, experiences, and desires that shape an individual’s existence.

With a stellar ensemble cast including Chiwetel Ejiofor, Karen Gillan and Mark Hamill, The Life of Chuck is a life-affirming exploration of human connection and destiny, revealing the impact of each moment – both significant and mundane – in a life fully lived. Notably, it took home the People’s Choice Award at the Toronto International Film Festival, a reliable harbinger of the Best Picture Oscar race.
