Ang Lee's classic 1993 Taiwanese romantic comedy of the same name gets a fresh, contemporary reimagining.

The 2025 version centres on Min (Han Gi-chan), a gay man who proposes a green card marriage to his lesbian best friend Angela (Kelly Marie Tran) in order to appease his traditional family and remain in the US. In exchange, he offers to fund expensive IVF treatments for Angela’s partner, Lee (Lily Gladstone). But their best-laid plans quickly unravel when Min’s grandmother (Minari’s Youn Yuh-jung) surprises them with an elaborate Korean wedding banquet, which quickly spirals into comedic chaos and emotional revelation.
