Set against the picturesque backdrop of the Jura region of France, Holy Cow is spirited coming-of-age tale free of Hollywood varnish. Making her directorial debut, Louise Courvoisier, who grew up in the Jura, infuses the narrative with a deep compassion for her protagonist, finding emotional depth in small, authentic details. The film, which won the Un Certain Regard Youth Award at the Cannes Film Festival, is a celebration of tradition, family and agriculture.
