Five years after the events of Jurassic World: Dominion, the resurrected dinosaurs that once roamed free have now congregated in tropical climates. Enter special ops leader Zora Bennett (Scarlett Johansson), who is recruited by a pharmaceutical company to extract dinosaur DNA from three colossal prehistoric specimens – aquatic, terrestrial, and avian – which holds the key to a revolutionary heart disease treatment. To complete their mission, Bennett and her team (Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey) head to an abandoned island research facility, once a site for genetic experimentation. It’s a good thing none of those failed dinosaur mutants survived…
Life once again finds a way in the seventh entry in the enduring franchise, this time directed by Gareth Edwards (Rogue One) from a script by original Jurassic Park screenwriter David Koepp. As the title implies, Jurassic World: Rebirth mostly wipes the slate clean with a back-to-basics approach. Hold onto your butts.
