On the isle of Berk, where Vikings and dragons have been bitter enemies for generations, scrawny Hiccup (Mason Thames) who refuses to follow his tribe’s practice of hunting dragons, much to the chagrin of his chieftain father, Stoick (Gerard Butler, reprising his role from the animated version). Things take a turn for the unexpected when Hiccup befriends Toothless, a fearsome Night Fury dragon, defying tradition and forging a bond that changes their world forever.
Written and directed by Dean DeBlois, who also penned and helmed the original animated trilogy, How to Train Your Dragon bucks the recent trend of sub-par live-action remakes by taking its source material to spectacular new heights. His latest is a tale of espionage which follows reclusive mogul Zsa-zsa Korda (Benicio del Toro) as he attempts to secure the future of his family business. In an effort to repair his relationship with his estranged and only daughter, devoted nun Sister Liesl (Mia Threapleton), he unexpectedly appoints her as his sole heir. But they soon find themselves caught in a dangerous web spun by scheming tycoons, mysterious foreign terrorists, and relentless assassins.
