Retired Georgian schoolteacher Lia (Mzia Arabuli) crosses the border to Turkey on a determined quest to locate her transgender niece, Tekla. She hopes to bring Tekla home in an attempt to make amends for failing her years before in a time of need. Accompanied by her hapless neighbour Achi (Lucas Kankava), Lia navigates vibrant and oft-hidden corners of Istanbul, encountering a diverse community of individuals along the way. As they search for Tekla, Lia must confront her own prejudices and learn about the complexities of identity and belonging.
