In 1985 Ireland, Bill Furlong (Cillian Murphy) is a soft-spoken father of five who has built up his coal business through years of hard work. As Christmas approaches, Bill makes a delivery to the local convent’s laundry and uncovers a shocking secret hidden within his seemingly ordinary town.
