In 1950s London, widowed cleaning lady Ada (Lesley Manville) becomes captivated by a haute couture Dior dress, and decides she must have one of her own. She’ll do anything it takes – working, gambling and starving herself – to get enough money to make her dream come true. Once in Paris, she stumbles into a showing of Dior's 10th anniversary collection and ends up changing the course of the House of Dior for good, much to the chagrin of Dior’s director, Claudine (Isabelle Huppert).

If what you’re after is an inspiring, feel-good story, with more than a touch of class, then come follow along as Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris.

Fun fact: this is the third film adaptation of the 1958 novel by Paul Gallico, which has also spawned a number of sequel novels and even a musical adaptation.

Self-reliant commitment-phobe Bobby Lieber (Billy Eichner) is a podcaster and chair of the soon-to-open LGBTQ+ Museum in New York. Priding himself on being single, Bobby rolls his eyes at romance, marriage, and shirtless gym bros – until he meets one who challenges his expectations.

Eichner has accomplished many firsts here: he is the first openly gay man to co-write and star in his own major studio film; Bros is the first gay rom-com from a major studio, and the first to feature an almost-entirely LGBTQ+ principal cast. With co-writer and director Nicholas Stoller (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Bad Neighbours), Eichner has produced a boldly gay and self-aware rom-com that oozes sharp New York wit, hilarious queer snark, and genuine romantic chemistry. There is also a little bit of LGBTQ+ history subversively layered into the plot, so it’s educational too.
