This is the second feature film featuring the woolly (and not-so-woolly) inhabitants of Mossy Bottom Farm, based on the popular TV series that ran from 2009 to 2016.

This time around, a spaceship bearing an unusual extra-terrestrial creature (Amalia Vitale) with unique powers crash lands close to the home of Shaun the Sheep (Justin Fletcher). Can Shaun help his new-found friend return to her home planet before a nefarious corporation captures her for their own gain?

Farmageddon is barn-full of in-jokes and homages to classic sci-fi films, such as the name of the town’s local garage, which should remind you of very a famous sci-fi author. It also features all the charming word-less exclamations and stunned sheep faces you’ve come to love. How do they make those stick-on eye-buttons so adorably expressive?

In July 2016 – a year before the allegations against Harvey Weinstein surfaced and sparked the #MeToo movement – dozens of women came forward to accuse Roger Ailes, chairman and CEO of the Fox News network, of sexual harassment. They had been galvanised by a lawsuit brought by Gretchen Carlson, former host of the morning show Fox & Friends.

Bombshell interweaves the stories of three women working at Fox News – Megyn Kelly (Charlize Theron), Gretchen Carlson (Nicole Kidman) and Kayla Pospisil (Margot Robbie) – as they take a stand against the powerful Ailes (John Lithgow) and the toxic atmosphere he fostered.

Although not entirely factually accurate, the stirring and timely film has nevertheless received critical acclaim alongside Oscar nominations for Theron (Best Actress) and Robbie (Best Supporting Actress).
