PRESENTED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE ANU SHAKESPEARE SOCIETY

In 1613, disaster strikes when William Shakespeare’s renowned Globe Theatre is burned to the ground. Shakespeare (Kenneth Branagh) is bereft and returns home to Stratford, where he hopes to enjoy a prosperous retirement after spending two decades working to become the greatest writer of the age.

Instead, he finds that his fame has come at the expense of his family, including his wife, Anne (Judi Dench), and his unmarried daughter Judith (Kathryn Wilder). Facing his troubled past, Shakespeare must attempt to mend his broken relationships before it’s too late.

All is True is an elegiac and melancholy (if somewhat conjectural) portrait of Shakespeare’s twilight years, brought to life by a cast that is no stranger to the Bard’s works.
