With his alien race on the verge of losing a war on their home planet of Cybertron to the evil Decepticons, Autobot leader Optimus Prime sends a scout named B-127 to Earth to seek sanctuary. He crash lands on Earth in the year 1987 and loses both his voice and his memory – but not before transforming into a yellow Volkswagen Beetle.

Teenage mechanic Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld) finds the car in a scrapyard and takes it home to restore it, unknowingly reviving the amnesiac robot. Nicknaming him Bumblebee, Charlie soon discovers that he is no ordinary VW Bug.

The best (and best reviewed) film in the franchise by far, this 80-set spin-off/prequel is the Transformers film we wanted all along.

On the eve of D-Day, U.S. paratroopers drop behind enemy lines to destroy a German radio tower. As they approach their target, it becomes apparent there’s more going on in the Nazi-occupied village than a simple military operation. Making their way to an underground lab, the men stumble upon a sinister experiment – and into a vicious battle against an army of the undead.

From Australian director Julius Avery and produced by J.J. Abrams, Overlord is exactly what you would expect it to be: a Nazi-Zombie Apocalypse, B-Grade gore-fest of epic proportions with a blockbuster budget.

Dark and bloody, packed with humour and edge-of-your-seat action, Overlord is definitely set to be a cult classic.
