A dreadful letter with a cry for help from a young boy is found within a bottle that has been drifting at sea for eight years. The faded letter is brought to the Copenhagen Police Headquarters where police inspector Carl Mørck (Lie Kaas) and his assistant Assad (Fares) soon discover a link between the letter and the recent disappearance of two children from a strongly religious congregation in Denmark.

Mørck and Assad dig deep into the zealous community, but are met with mostly silence from its members, as the pair soon accepts that the congregation’s faith in God is stronger than their trust in the police. Despite the reluctance of the members to cooperate, the two mismatched investigators manage to uncover a long trail of secrets that can be traced back many years.

A Conspiracy of Faith broke the Danish record for ticket sales in its opening weekend by a Danish film and is the third instalment of the riveting Department Q series based on the acclaimed books by Danish author Jussi Adler-Olsen. If you enjoyed the first two films – The Keeper of Lost Causes and The Absent One – this is a must-see.
