I thought I’d start this review with a bit of interesting but ultimately useless trivia… also known as the plot.

This time around the fight is personal. Barney (Stallone), Christmas (Statham) and the rest of the Expendables come face-to-face with Conrad Stonebanks (Gibson). Stonebanks co-founded the Expendables with Barney many years before but then he turned into a baddie and became an arms trader so Barney killed him, or so he thought. Now Stonebanks is back to finish off the Expendables, but that’s not going to happen without a whole lot of crazy and awesome fight scenes and a bucket load of in-jokes. Oh, and a few, younger new recruits who are tech-savvy and ready for battle!

But as I said, who cares about that plot stuff. The Expendables 3 is another opportunity to watch old school action heroes Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Terry Crews and Arnie do what they do best. While I’m rattling off names in this awesome cast I might as well mention that there are a heap of other big names gracing the screen during the film including Wesley Snipes, Antonio Banderas, Harrison Ford, and Kelsey Grammer (sorry for stealing your thunder, booklet credits guy!). [Good try – Ed.]

This is definitely big screen entertainment. So put down your laptops, turn off those TVs and come to the Film Group to hang out with all of the other cool people who will be in the audience.
